Aaron wrote the track with Skip Black and Nicole Witt, though Nicole had covid during the writing sessions so she had to join remotely. The three were vibing on Morgan Wallen’s track “7 Summers”, so they wrote with that in mind. Being a songwriter, it was also new for Aaron to write for the purposes of recording, which he did only two weeks after penning the song. This version of the single features multi-award winner Meghan Patrick, who has been nominated for nearly 50 awards, including CCMA Female Artist of the Year every year since 2017, and won 23 of those awards, including twice for CCMA Female Artist of the Year, and for CMAO Album of the Year.

Of the new label signing, Aaron says, “I first started doing shows with Paul Biro years before I was ever signed to the Sakamoto booking roster, and we have overcome so many challenges together through the past 8 or 9 years. When the opportunity came to progress and become a part of Sakamoto Music, it was a no brainer for me. Sakamoto has an amazing team that already works so well with us and we love working together. They are my people, and I’m so excited to see what happens next.”

Aaron’s management team at GrassRoots Promotion is equally as excited, Co-Owner/Managing Partner Nancy Tunick says“We are so excited to continue bringing Aaron’s music to country music lovers with Sakamoto’s innovative new label venture as well as with our valued promotion and marketing partners at Warner Music Canada! There is no better way to launch this new partnership than with an amazing song and dynamic vocal collaboration with Meghan Patrick!”

Sakamoto Music is excited about what’s to come from Aaron Goodvin, and to expand the label roster in to 2023“We are overjoyed to welcome Aaron Goodvin to the new label,” says Joelle May, Director of Promotions & Artist Services, “Aaron is a consummate professional, a spectacular songwriter, and an unforgettable performer. We’ve enjoyed a long relationship with him in the Sakamoto group of companies, and we’re proud to start representing his recorded music as his career continues to grow.”

Sakamoto’s President and Operating Partner Paul Biro says“We are incredibly pleased to be expanding our relationship with Aaron Goodvin, the team at GrassRoots Promotion, and our partners at Warner Music Canada. With the combination of our team working behind the scenes and the incredible promotional team at WMC that has been a huge part of Aaron’s career, we feel confident that this will be an amazing venture for all of us. Not to mention, adding an artist of the caliber of Meghan Patrick as a feature on this release makes it more than just a song, but a musical event.”

“You Ain’t feat. Meghan Patrick” is the first single of many to come from Aaron Goodvin on new label Sakamoto Music, distributed by Warner Music Canada. Aaron is also signed for bookings in Canada to Sakamoto Music’s parent company Sakamoto Agency, and will embark on a cross Canada headline tour in January 2023, playing no less than 20 shows from the west to east coast.
