LEMON CASH SIGN TO SAKAMOTO MUSIC, RELEASING ‘BREAKUP SONG’ ON JUNE 23

Lemon Cash – the exciting and emerging country duo, consisting of Ottawa brothers Cory and Jeff Papineau – have announced the release of their brand new single “Breakup Song,” coming June 23 (PRE-SAVE/ADD HERE). The song, written by Lemon Cash, alongside fellow country artist Wes Mack and veteran lyricist/producer/musician Dan Swinimer, is the first release under their new recording contract with Sakamoto Music, distributed by Warner Music Canada.

“Breakup Song” captures the essence of a relationship ending before the song could be written. It’s a playful, propulsive, and triumphant-yet-heartbreaking anthem that showcases Lemon Cash’s songwriting prowess, infectious energy and unique blend of heartfelt storytelling and captivating melodies.

“We owe it all to the Sakamoto team for believing in us and giving us this huge opportunity!” says Lemon Cash. “We’ve been working with them for the past couple of years and have nothing but the utmost respect and admiration for them.  We know our music is in good hands and can hardly wait to get more music out!”

“Brothers Cory and Jeff have it all when it comes to songwriting, performing, and bringing that certain energy that ignites audiences. We can’t wait to share their music with country fans everywhere,” says Joelle May, Director of Promotions & Artist Services at Sakamoto Music.

Lemon Cash will perform at the Renfrew Musical Festival (in Renfrew, ON) on July 15, Stevensville Ram Rodeo (in Stevensville, ON) on August 5 and the Richmond Fair (in Richmond, ON) on September 16. Visit www.lemoncashmusic.com as more dates continue to be announced.

ABOUT LEMON CASH:

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade. Sell a lot of lemonade and call your country band Lemon Cash. At least, that’s what brothers Cory and Jeff did in homage to their lifelong creative partnership. While still young children, their father left home and their mother took on the challenging responsibilities of raising three kids on her own. When times became tough, music was their therapy.

They have been singing, writing and recording together their whole lives (even for their answering machine) and after incarnations as a cover band and then an alt-rock collective, Lemon Cash have found their sweet spot in the genre they grew up loving. The fast-rising country duo have swiftly gained fans and industry attention, having honed their live show into an energetic, fan-pleasing spectacle. Last year, the brothers had their busiest year to date, performing shows and at festivals across the country, including the Calgary Stampede. With their debut album on the way and a new record deal with Sakamoto Music, this year is shaping up to be monumental.
