Sakamoto Agency Signs “Top of the Country” Finalist Raquel Cole

For Immediate Release, June 28, 2021: Sakamoto Agency is pleased to announce the signing of Canadian country artist Raquel Cole to it’s growing roster. A current semi-finalist in this year’s SiriusXM Top of the Country contest at the upcoming Canadian Country Music Awards, Raquel is also releasing a brand new single called “Think About You” on July 2nd 2021, which will also be her first release to Canadian country radio.

“A dynamite vocalist, songwriter and guitar slinger to boot!” as described by American Songwriter Magazine, Raquel Cole has become known for her impeccable musical talent, even foregoing jazz school in her native British Columbia for a move to Nashville. She released her debut album Personal Truth in 2018, and was named by CBC/Radio-Canada as “25 under 25 Musicians Everyone Needs to Know,” as well as landing her first major songwriting credit on a Billboard Top 10 country song with “UnBreak This Breakup”, recorded by superstar, Marie Osmond.

Raquel Cole has been on the radar of Sakamoto Agency for some time. “Sakamoto was the first agency to ever book me for shows in Canada,” says Cole, “It feels like a full circle moment to be signing with them now as I push my first ever song to Canadian radio. I feel honoured to get to work with such a legendary team and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Sakamoto’s Paul Biro can’t wait to get to work booking shows for Raquel, he says “We are so excited to be working with Raquel Cole and her manager Casadie Pederson. I have known Raquel a long time and her talent and determination truly exemplifies the artist spirit. We look forward to her music being shared with the world via streaming and radio, and her ability to capture audiences with live performance and impressive musicianship will certainly contribute to her appeal in the marketplace.”

In addition to signing with Sakamoto Agency and Paul Biro as Responsible Agent, Cole will also be utilizing the services of GPS Promotion, a division of Sakamoto Agency in partnership with GrassRoots Promotion in Nashville, for radio promotion. Raquel’s manager, Casadie Pederson of Muse Creative Management, says, “Right from my first call with Paul, I could feel his passion for Raquel’s music and artistry. As a manager, all I ever want is for the team around us to be as passionate about her music as me, and for her as a human being to be heard and seen. We feel extremely excited for the opportunity to work with everyone at Sakamoto Agency and Tera Lee at GPS Promotion for Raquel’s first release to Canadian country radio.”

As live music returns to the stage, Sakamoto Agency continues to support the careers of many Canadian artists, with more exciting news in the works. For interviews or media inquiries about Raquel Cole or Sakamoto Agency, please contact [email protected]

MORE ABOUT RAQUEL COLE: Singing has been Cole’s first love for as long as she can remember. Acquiring her first guitar at the age of nine, Cole started to write songs not long after that. Her skill as a musician is one of the first things that audiences notice about this British Columbia native, as she stands her ground opening for artists like Carrie Underwood, Jonny Lang, Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery, and Josh Turner, whom she has toured with extensively over the past few years. They are not the only ones catching onto the fiery and soulful music Cole is making, she was named by CBC/Radio-Canada as “25 under 25 Musicians Everyone Needs to Know,” alongside Alessia Cara and Shawn Mendes.
